CTOnews.com Sept. 14, LinkedIn personal page shows that Jim Yang, general manager and global studio head of Supercell, the former Finnish game developer, joined domestic game developer Mihayou in September 2022 as president of its international department HoYoverse.

According to LinkedIn, prior to this, Jim Yang held a number of corporate development, strategic, investment and product management positions in Tencent and Riot Games. Jim Yang began his career in the financial industry and was a founding team member and private equity investor at PAG Asia Capital, as well as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.

In addition, in February this year, MiHoYo announced the official launch of a new forward-looking brand HoYoverse, which aims to create and deliver immersive virtual world experiences to players around the world through a variety of entertainment services. HoYoverse will expand its content production, technical research and distribution functions through offices in Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul.

CTOnews.com learned that Cai Haoyu, co-founder and CEO of HoYoverse, had previously said: "the mission of HoYoverse is to create a grand virtual world driven by content, where games, animation and many other types of entertainment are integrated to provide players with a high degree of freedom and immersion."
