Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Microsoft to go oh afraid of clue delivery! CTOnews.com Sept. 14, Microsoft announced that WebView2 is now available for WinUI 2 Desktop Windows applications (UWP). Unlike the original EdgeHTML-based WebView, WebView2 is based on the Chromium kernel.

WebView2 allows Windows developers to embed web content into WinUI 2 UWP applications. Compared with the previous EdgeHTML-based WebView, the same kernel of the old Edge browser, the new Chromium-based version provides better compatibility, sustainability, support and modern features.

In addition, because WebView2 is part of Windows 11 and Windows 10, developers using WebView2 can provide customers with "lighter" applications.

Finally, one of the biggest benefits of WebView2 is that the control supports older versions of Windows, not just the original Windows 10 or higher. Developers can use WebView2 to build applications for Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft PowerApps has first built in WebView2, an application that allows developers to create a user interface using drag-and-drop elements and is a low-code tool.
