CTOnews.com, Sept. 14 (Xinhua)-- Asustek has launched a removable two-in-one laptop similar to the Surface, the ExpertBook B3 Detachable, which is mainly used for educational, small business and office purposes. According to Asustek, it is "the first ExpertBook laptop with a bi-directional bracket, the first ARM-based Windows laptop with a storable stylus, and the first Asustek laptop to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c (second generation)".

Like Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Fold (Gen 2), the B3 removable laptop has three separate parts: the tablet part contains all the performance hardware and display, a magnetically attachable keyboard, like the Surface Pro 8, and a magnetically absorbable back cover for use as a bracket.

The bracket allows the tablet to be placed horizontally or vertically, but can only be used horizontally when connecting the keyboard. The tablet itself weighs only 1.3 pounds (595 grams), and the keyboard and bracket will add 0.91 pounds (412 grams). The keyboard has a spatter-proof and antibacterial coating, while the tablet is certified for MIL-STD 810H durability to ensure that it can withstand a harsher environment than a normal PC.

Asustek claims that the laptop has a 21-hour battery life after a single charge, while remaining lightweight and versatile. This is mainly because the computer is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c (second generation) processor, has eight cores at 2.55GHz frequency, integrates Adreno 618 GPU, LPDDR4x integrated memory up to 8GB, and eMMC storage for 128GB.

The computer has a 10.5in touch display with an aspect ratio of 16:10, a resolution of 1920x1200 (FHD+) and a brightness of 320Nits. the screen is certified by T Ü V Rheinland as low blue and flicker-free. An active handwriting using the MPP 2.0 protocol can be stored in a tablet and recharged at the same time, and can be taken out and used at any time when you need to take some notes or do a quick sketch.

The front camera at the top of the display reaches 5 megapixels and the rear camera is enhanced to 1300 megapixels. It also supports 3D noise reduction technology, which helps provide photo quality in low light conditions, and has dual multi-array microphones for voice chat. However, the ExpertBook B3 removable computer does not support 4G LTE or 5G connections and can only rely on Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connections. There are also a few ports, with only one USB-C port for charging and file transfer, next to a 3.5mm headphone Jack.

CTOnews.com learned that the ExpertBook B3 Detachable (B3000) went on sale overseas today at a price of $599 (about 4157.06 yuan).
