September 13, according to foreign media reports, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy previously released data show that due to the global economic slowdown, reduced demand and falling prices, South Korean semiconductor exports fell again in August compared with the same period last year after 26 months, falling to US $10.78 billion, down 7.8% from the same period last year.

According to the latest data released by the Korean Customs Office, South Korean semiconductor exports are expected to resume growth in September compared with the same period last year.

Semiconductor exports rose 7.9 per cent in the first 10 days of September from a year earlier, and chips remain one of South Korea's key exports, accounting for nearly 20 per cent, according to data released by South Korea's customs agency.

According to South Korean media reports, affected by holidays, South Korea had only 6.5 working days in the first 10 days of September, a decrease of 2 days compared with 8.5 days in the same period last year. This means that if the working day is the same as the same period last year, the year-on-year increase in semiconductor exports will be more obvious.

However, data from the South Korean Customs Office also show that although exports of semiconductor products have increased compared with the same period last year, due to the impact of fewer working days after holidays, South Korea's overall exports fell significantly in the first 10 days of September to US $16.25 billion, down from US $19.48 billion in the same period last year, down 16.6% from the same period last year.
