Previously, it has been difficult to track the frequency of atrial fibrillation or manage life factors that may affect a person's health for a long time. Changing lifestyle factors may reduce the duration of atrial fibrillation, according to the American Heart Association.

With the introduction of watchOS 9, users diagnosed with atrial fibrillation can turn on the historical function of atrial fibrillation approved by FDA and obtain important information such as the estimated frequency of heart rhythm showing signs of atrial fibrillation, giving users a better understanding of their physical condition. Users are notified weekly of the frequency of AF and can view detailed historical records in the Health App, including life factors that may affect AF, such as sleep, alcohol intake and exercise. This function applies to individuals aged 22 or older who are diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.
