Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, Sept. 12 (Xinhua)-- according to Cloud Wars, Microsoft's cloud business revenue may "exceed $100 billion" by the end of this year.
In its earnings call last quarter, Microsoft slightly missed its lofty forecast for revenue growth, although most investors still seemed relatively satisfied with net results, but other bullish investors were quick to point out that the company's cloud division was experiencing a slowdown.
The cloud services market is not yet saturated, but competition among a small number of well-known players, including Amazon AWS, Google, Microsoft, Oracle and IBM, is intensifying and growth among unhindered competitors is shrinking.
Cloud Wars is keeping a close eye on the details of the cloud industry and believes that by the end of the 2022 calendar year, Microsoft's cloud business will be 25 per cent larger than its next nearest competitor, Amazon.
CTOnews.com has learned that Amazon is still the largest cloud service provider in the industry. Bob Evans is distinguishing between the company's projected growth between the calendar year and Microsoft's fiscal year, which usually runs from July 1 to June 30.
Bob Evans has come up with a simple and feasible forecast plan that will enable Microsoft to generate more than $100 billion in revenue within a year, as follows:
Cloud revenue for the quarter ended March 31 (Microsoft FY22 Q3) was $23.4 billion, up 32%
Cloud revenue rose 28% to $25 billion in the quarter ended June 30 (Microsoft FY22 Q4).
Microsoft's cloud revenue totaled $48.4 billion in the first half of 2022, which means Microsoft must generate $51.6 billion in cloud revenue in the second half of the year to reach $100 billion. The average is $25.8 billion per quarter. As a result, the fact that Microsoft reached $25 billion in the second calendar quarter means it is likely to increase it to at least $25.8 billion in each of the next two quarters.
As mentioned earlier, Cloud Wars is keeping a close eye on the cloud, and Evans supports this claim, which lists seven major factors contributing to Microsoft's revenue growth in cloud services. These include a growing product line, aggressive end-to-end-terminal security solutions, a commitment to low-code / codeless development tools, existing and future multi-year and multibillion-dollar contracts, and the company's growing collaboration and customer-centric philosophy.
Cloud services still have a lot of room for growth in the general market, but due to a late start, Microsoft continues to maintain quarter-on-quarter revenue growth, which bodes well for the company's diversified product portfolio.
