Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen kayd for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com Twitter said today that payments made to whistleblowers did not violate any conditions of Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition. Musk previously cited this behavior as a reason to cancel the deal.

CTOnews.com has learned that in a letter to Twitter on Friday, Musk's lawyer pointed out that Twitter did not seek Musk's consent before paying whistleblower Peiter Zatko and his lawyer $7.75 million, in violation of the acquisition agreement, which limits the time Twitter can make such payments.

On Sept. 7, Delaware Chancery Judge Kathaleen McCormick said Musk could cite Twitter's whistleblower Peiter Zatko as evidence in the case of Twitter v. Tesla CEO Musk, but the trial date could not be postponed.
