CTOnews.com, Sept. 12 (Reuters)-A court in Moscow accepted a bankruptcy application from Google's Russian subsidiary on Monday and initiated preliminary bankruptcy proceedings to put the company under supervision, Reuters reported.

Alphabet's Russian subsidiary of Google filed for bankruptcy this summer after authorities closed its bank account, preventing it from paying employees and suppliers, the report said.

CTOnews.com learned that in May this year, Google's Russian subsidiary announced that it would file for bankruptcy. In June this year, Google's Russian subsidiary formally submitted a bankruptcy declaration.

Previously, Russia has restricted users' access to Twitter, Meta's Facebook and Instagram. Google and YouTube video hosting services are under pressure, but they are still available.
