CTOnews.com, September 12, according to Xinhua News Agency, the Ukrainian State Nuclear Power Company announced on the 11th that the Zaporo heat nuclear power plant had stopped operation. The Ukrainian State Nuclear Power Company said that in the early morning of the 11th, the last power unit in operation at the Zaporo nuclear power plant was disconnected from the Ukrainian national power grid, and preparations for cooling the units were under way.

On the 11th, the TASS news agency quoted Rogov, the representative of the local administrative agency of Zapolo fever, as saying that the unit was suspended in a controllable manner and was switching to a "cold shutdown" state, and it was possible to restart in the future.

Rogov, a representative of the Zaporoge state government, said that Unit 6, the last operation of the Zaporo heat nuclear power plant, had stopped operation, according to the Russian satellite news agency. "in the past few days, Unit 6, the only power plant in operation, has been operating at the lowest power. it stopped running at 03:45 at night. Now it has stopped generating electricity."

According to public information, the Zapolo thermal nuclear power plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. It has six nuclear reactors, of which only the sixth is still in operation. In addition to supporting cooling and other basic safety functions in the station, it also supplies electricity to homes, factories and other facilities through the power grid.

On September 3, the fourth and only remaining main transmission line of the nuclear power plant was disconnected from the State Grid, supplying power to the grid through only one backup line. On the 10th, one of the lines was restored so that the Zapolo thermal nuclear power plant could obtain electricity from the Ukrainian power grid, so it was decided to shut down Unit 6 and switch it to the safest cold shutdown state.

Earlier, foreign media said that Russia and Ukraine accused each other of shelling nuclear power plants, and the international community was worried that the shelling of nuclear power plants by both sides could lead to nuclear disaster. Ukraine on Sept. 7 called on residents of the "Russian-occupied areas" around the plant to evacuate for their own safety.

CTOnews.com learned that a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arrived at the Zaporo nuclear power plant in early September for inspection and expressed support for the establishment of a "nuclear safety protection zone" around the plant.
