Hiroaki Koda said that the new liquid-based lithium-ion battery will dominate over the next decade, and the development of the next generation has begun, with the goal of launching it by 2025.

CTOnews.com reported that Toyota and Panasonic formed a joint venture Prime Planet Energy & Solutions in 2020. Proportion of contribution: Toyota contributed 51%; Panasonic 49%.

Prime business scope: development, manufacture and sales of square lithium-ion batteries with high capacity / high output power; development, manufacture and sales of all-solid-state batteries for vehicles; in addition to the above business, development, manufacture and sales of next-generation batteries (including products developed according to the new principle); other incidental and related businesses.
