CTOnews.com Sept. 11, Tesla Model Y continues to be popular around the world and has now landed in new countries. On Friday, just three weeks after its launch in Australia and New Zealand, the Japanese market delivered the Model Y model for the first time.

CTOnews.com learned that in Japan, Tesla Model Y has been accepting orders since early June. Two versions, the Model Y RWD rear drive version and the Model Y performance version, are currently on sale, starting at 6190000 yen (about 300800 yuan) and 8090000 yen (about 393200 yuan), respectively. Interestingly, the long-lasting RWD rear drive version of Model Y is not available in any Asian / Oceania market except Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

Prior to this, Tesla only Model 3 listed in the Japanese market, compared with the rest of the world, sales are not very strong. Part of the reason is that Japan lacks charging infrastructure. In addition, automakers like Toyota have adopted anti-electric vehicle marketing in Japan.
