CTOnews.com, September 12 (Xinhua)-- Apple is expected to hold another launch event in October, focusing on new iPad and Mac models, following the September release of iPhone 14 and Apple Watch.

According to the rule of previous years, we still have about three weeks to go before the October launch, but from some previous revelations, we no longer know nothing about some of the products that may be available at next month's launch.

As for the October launch, there are rumors that Apple is preparing to launch a new iPad Pro with M2 chips and a redesigned entry-level iPad 10, and we are likely to see several new Mac computers with M2 chips, perhaps including some of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini and / or Mac Pro.

IPad Pro with M2 chip according to Bloomberg Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release a new iPad Pro model with M2 chip and wireless charging support for MagSafe in October, which is more than 90% likely. Both 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro are expected to be updated iteratively, but the 11-inch version may still not have a mini LED display.

Although iPad 10 is expected to retain the Touch ID button, there are rumors that the device will no longer retain the headphone hole.

Mac Otakara reports that the tenth generation of iPad will actually design a Touch ID button on the top of the body, just like the latest iPad Air or iPad mini. The report also points out that the FaceTime camera may be placed on the right border of the device so that users can use it horizontally.

CTOnews.com warned that Apple released its ninth-generation iPad in September 2021, with key selling points including a 10.2-inch display, an A13 bionic chip, an upgraded 1200-megapixel front-facing camera, character centering, original color display, and mass storage.

More Mac8 with M2 chips at the end of the month, Gurman revealed that Apple has been developing M2-based Mac mini, MacBook Pro and Mac Pro models, adding that we "may see at least a pair of new machines in two months' time," in line with rumors at the October launch. As one of its first three Mac chips, Apple released the Mac mini with M1 chip in November 2020. A new version of the Mac mini with M2 chips will also be available in two years, Mr. Gurman said.

Apple is still selling the Intel processor version of Mac mini, but Mr. Goolman said it will be replaced by the M2 Pro model.

According to Gurman, Apple will arm the next generation of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which are "in the development and testing phase" and are scheduled to be released "as early as this fall".

As has been the practice in recent years, some new products may be delayed / released due to supply chain or other factors.

Although some people think that the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips may be Apple's first 3nm chip, it is most likely to keep the 5nm. Similar to the A16 chip in the iPhone 14 Pro series, the new M2 Pro / Max chip will also have some performance improvement compared with M1 Pro and M1 Max chip, and may also increase the number of cores.

After the launch of the Mac Studio in March 2022, Apple revealed that Mac Pro desktops with its own chip version would also arrive.

It is worth mentioning that Apple said as early as 2020 that the transition of the Mac product line from Intel processors to a full Apple silicon would take about two years to complete, so the new Mac Pro is bound to be released in 2022, which is the highlight of the last event of the year.

According to Gurman, the new Mac Pro will be equipped with "M2 Ultra" and "M2 Extreme" chips, and it may be smaller, but it is unclear whether there will be any major design changes to the desktop computer compared to the Intel model released in December 2019.

The only certainty is that the new Mac Pro will be the most powerful Mac ever, and regardless of whether the number of cores doubles or not, the performance is bound to exceed the Mac Studio of the M1 Ultra chip.

Apple TV Guo Mingyi has previously said that Apple plans to launch a new Apple TV with an "improved cost structure" in the second half of 2022, but it is not clear whether the device will be released during the October event or at other times.

Gurman said that the new Apple TV being developed by Apple is equipped with A14 chip and 4GB RAM, which will bring stronger performance than the previous generation of Apple TV 4K (with A12 chip and 3GB RAM).

The current version of Apple TV 4K, released in April 2021, starts at $179 with storage space for 32GB and $149for Apple TV HD. By contrast, many streaming bars from brands such as Chromecast and Roku range from $25 to $100.
