CTOnews.com Sept. 11, Samsung demonstrated the Flex G and Flex S concept folding screen devices on CES 2022. The Flex S and Flex G are Samsung display-designed dual folding screen phone-tablet hybrid device concepts designed to showcase other form factors achieved by foldable technology other than flip Galaxy Z Flip and book Galaxy Z Fold. Recently, Samsung showed that it had registered the trademark "Flex G" in South Korea.

Last July, Samsung showed that it also registered the "S Flex" trademark on KIPRIS. "Flex G" has now been added, and both trademarks fall under the same category of South Korea's intellectual property Information Service Center. Samsung has also tried larger folding screen devices, such as the Flex Note concept. The latter may soon join the ranks of KIPRIS's other two "Flex" devices.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series performed well. The era of folding screen phones is officially coming, and Samsung may be preparing to expand into the emerging field of folding screen devices in a new form. Samsung said it has no plans to release any other folding screen devices until it ensures the success and maturity of the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series.

CTOnews.com learned that it is important to note that Samsung display is a different organization from Samsung Electronics, and it is now the Samsung display department that has demonstrated the concepts of Flex S and Flex G and won the trademark. In other words, Samsung shows that it is a company that may want to sell its folding panel to as many customers as possible. So these types of double folding panels may eventually be used by mobile device manufacturers other than Samsung.
