CTOnews.com Sept. 10, yesterday, Funeng Technology held the "2022 Funeng Technology Strategy and New products Conference" in Beijing, officially launched a new power battery solution-- SPS (Super Pouch Solution), which integrates four innovative technologies: large soft package battery core, large soft package battery system, large soft package battery manufacturing and direct recycling. From the aspects of charging efficiency, reducing cost and increasing efficiency, adapting models and other aspects to create products that meet customer requirements and user needs.

According to official introduction, the all-polar ear and multi-pole ear large soft package power cell launched by Funeng Technology has changed the previous generation of multi-cell series design, thus simplifying the battery system structure; with charge and discharge rates from 2.4C to 5C or even higher, to meet the power needs of all kinds of new energy vehicles; the application of semi-solid electrolyte to reduce the amount of liquid electrolyte and improve the intrinsic safety of the battery.

It is reported that the new SPS soft package power battery system has an energy density of 330Wh / kg, supports 800V and 4C fast charging, and can achieve a range of 400km in 10 minutes.

The SPS battery adopts a large soft package core horizontal layout design, which reduces the battery system components by 50%, reduces the material cost by 33%, and increases the volume utilization rate to 75%. Compared with the model with 4680 cylindrical batteries, the SPS has 12% higher volume utilization, 3 times cycle life and 60% higher heat conduction efficiency.

According to officials, high-efficiency liquid-cooled plates and heat guides provide efficient heat exchange with double-sided liquid cooling and three-sided heat transfer, increasing the heat dissipation efficiency of the battery system by four times, and accurate and comprehensive temperature control to make the battery system cycle life more than 3000 times.

In terms of low temperature performance, the experimental data show that in the-20 ℃ environment, the capacity of the SPS system is more than 90%, and the charging time is reduced by half.

Funeng Technology SPS flexibly adjusts chassis height from 85mm to 145mm by adjusting cell thickness, carrying large soft package cells with different energy densities, and battery system capacity covers 80kWh to 150kWh, meeting the electrified needs of all kinds of passenger cars.

On the manufacturing side, the commissioning of the large soft package battery will greatly reduce the production capacity investment cost and manufacturing process cost, reduce equipment investment by 50%, plant area by 60%, and manufacturing energy consumption and cost by 35% and 30%, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that Funeng Technology took more than 10 years to develop and verify the direct recovery technology of lithium batteries, which can retain the crystal structure of cathode materials and reuse them, further reduce costs and energy consumption, and increase material utilization to more than 99%. According to the data of third-party laboratories in the United States, there is no significant difference in performance between the cell made of 25% directly recycled cathode material and the cell made of brand-new cathode material.

In addition to ternary materials, Funeng Technology systematically demonstrated the R & D route of other material systems for the first time at the press conference. Funeng Technology said that sodium ion batteries, lithium iron phosphate and lithium manganese iron phosphate plan to launch the first generation of products in 2023, with the goal of increasing the energy density of sodium ion batteries from 160 Wh / kg to 220 Wh / kg by 2030. The energy density of lithium iron phosphate and lithium ferromanganese phosphate forms product coverage from 200 Wh / kg to 240 Wh / kg. In terms of low nickel, Funeng Technology plans to launch 250 watt-hour / kg low-nickel-rich manganese system products in 2024, and the energy density is expected to further increase to 290 watt-hours / kg in 2030.

CTOnews.com learned that the monthly power battery data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance in August 2022 showed that among the top 15 domestic power battery companies in August 2022, Ningde era ranked first with 46.79%, while Funeng Technology ranked eighth with 2.27%.
