Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen South China Wu Yanzu, Coje_He for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com The upcoming Wallet feature in Microsoft Windows 11 and Windows 10 Edge browsers could be a very convenient way to securely manage users 'physical cards online and automatically discover relevant offers.
When a user makes a payment using Microsoft Edge and encounters a field for entering a credit card number or their credentials (such as CVV), Microsoft asks the user if they want to switch to a saved card instead. This has always been an option in Edge, but the experience gets better with a dedicated page called Wallet.
The Edge wallet feature will be available to some users in the U.S. for now, and Microsoft appears to be conducting A / B testing of it.
Edge wallets are conceptually similar to the functionality of browsers 'existing memory cards, and also don't see the user's actual credentials. It's worth noting that Microsoft doesn't partner with credit card networks or share user details with third parties, but it does plan to support Bing's rebate feature and automatically recommend coupons.
Here are the benefits of using Edge Wallet:
Using wallets can save more than $50 a year.
Edge can automatically use coupons at checkout by detecting cards and their suppliers.
Additional cash back can be used for specific purchases through Bing Rebates.
You can view personalized deals for the most interesting products.
To get started, users need to click and add a card button.
The screenshot shows that users can save card details such as card number, name on card, expiration date, CVV, and even give card nicknames. Users can also save billing addresses, but this feature is currently only available in the United States.
Once completed, users can view offers associated with the card.
These card details will be filled in dynamically by Microsoft Edge, without manual input. Currently, recent card transactions cannot be viewed.
CTOnews.com has learned that this extra layer of credit card security will first be built into Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It will be added later to other devices like macOS and Android. Users 'wallets sync automatically across devices, so card details can be filled in automatically from anywhere.
As mentioned at the beginning, the Microsoft Edge Wallet feature is initially only available to U.S. customers, with support for more regions coming later this year.
