CTOnews.com September 9 news, this afternoon, Yiwei LiNeng issued an announcement that the company's subsidiary Yiwei Power recently received a fixed-point letter from the German BMW Group, which will provide large cylindrical lithium-ion cells for the German BMW Group Neue Klasse series models.

The announcement pointed out that the smooth implementation of the project will help the two sides to establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship in the future, and further promote the development of the company in the lithium-ion power battery market.

CTOnews.com learned that Yiwei LiNeng said that the two parties have good performance capabilities, but the progress of the project is still uncertain, the actual supply needs to be based on formal sales orders, and the impact on this year's operating performance is temporarily uncertain. The company will fulfill its further information disclosure obligations in time according to the progress of the matter.

Earlier today, BMW announced that it would take the lead in using cylindrical cells in "New Generation" models from 2025, and said it had awarded more than 10 billion euros worth of cell production and demand contracts to CATL and EVE Energy partners. The two partners will each set up two cell factories in China and Europe, each with an annual capacity of 20GWh.
