According to the latest data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, the number of power batteries installed in China was 27.86GWh in August, up 121.0 percent from the same period last year and 14.7 percent from the previous year, CTOnews.com reported on September 9. From January to August, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 162.1GWh, an increase of 112.3% over the same period last year.

According to the data, the top three domestic power battery companies from January to August are Ningde era, BYD and China New Airlines, respectively; from January to August, the number of power batteries installed in Ningde era reached 47.45% of 76.90GWH; BYD's power battery accounted for 22.19% of 35.96GWh; and China Chuangxin Airlines accounted for 7.02% of power battery 11.38GWh.

In August this year, ternary battery 10.5GWh accounted for 37.9% of the total installed capacity, an increase of 97.1% over the same period last year and 7.0% compared with the previous year; lithium iron phosphate battery 17.2GWh accounted for 62.0% of the total installed capacity, up 138.6% from the same period last year and 20.0% from the previous year.

From January to August, the cumulative loading of ternary batteries 66.0GWh, accounting for 40.7% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative increase of 61.1% over the same period last year; lithium iron phosphate battery 95.9GWh, accounting for 59.2% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative increase of 172.2% over the same period last year, showing a momentum of rapid growth.

CTOnews.com has reported that data from the China Automobile Association show that in August this year, China's automobile production and sales completed 239.5 million vehicles and 2.383 million vehicles respectively, down 2.4% and 1.5% month-on-month, and up 38.3% and 32.1% respectively from the same period last year.

From January to August, automobile production and sales completed 1696.7 million and 16.86 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 4.8 per cent and 1.7 per cent respectively over the same period last year, the first double increase in production and sales since the second quarter.
