Zhang Caixing, head of BYD Semiconductor, said that the key equipment of the production line, such as lithography machine, etching machine and ion implantation machine, are imported products, with a total of 208sets and 1133 boxes, with a value of about 890 million yuan. The equipment is of high value, wide variety, difficult transportation and high storage requirements, and the unpacking inspection can only be carried out in a dust-free environment, with the help of "tailor-made" assistance from Changsha Customs, thus helping the enterprise production line to be put into production one month ahead of schedule.

CTOnews.com has reported that the Changsha BYD semiconductor eight-inch wafer production line project, which started in April 2020, is located in Changsha County Economic and technological Development Zone, Changsha City, with a total planned investment of 1 billion yuan, mainly engaged in semiconductor and integrated circuit production, design, testing, technology development and other projects.

As the first independent R & D and production of automotive IGBT in China, BYD has mastered the core technology of the whole industrial chain of IGBT, broke the monopoly of international giants, and grew into the largest IGBT manufacturer in China.

According to reports, the project mainly revolves around the research and development and industrial application of the core electronic technology of new energy vehicles, through the purchase of core production equipment such as high-precision lithography machine, oxidation diffusion furnace, metal sputtering machine, thinner, automatic sheet microscope, etc., to build an advanced 8-inch new energy vehicle electronic chip production line, solve the problem of "neck jam" of new energy vehicle electronic core power devices, and realize the localization of core components.

Zhou Xiaozhou, general manager of BYD Group in Hunan and party committee secretary of Changsha Company, said: a new energy vehicle power module wafer production line leading in domestic technology will be built, which can meet the capacity demand of 500000 new energy vehicles per year after reaching production.
