While everyone is focused on the new iPhone 14 series, Apple's cheap phones are a little more expensive-at least in the UK. IPhone SE 3 has been predicted by analysts to attract 1 billion Android users to switch.

As TechRadar discovered, iPhone SE 3 now costs 449 pounds (about 3592 yuan) in the UK, compared with 419 pounds before the iPhone 14 launch-a full 30 pounds (240 yuan) more. Apple's price rise is likely to be due to rising inflation in the country. Not only that, the pound fell to its lowest level against the dollar since 1985.

Although this type of price change is not common in Europe and the UK, other regions are more accustomed to it-such as Brazil, India and Turkey.

It is reported that although other iPhone sales are not affected, the iPhone SE 3 has been controversial because its flagship 5G feature is not enough to attract the American public to buy the phone.

But iPhone SE 3 performed better in Europe. The European smartphone market fell 11 per cent year-on-year and 13 per cent month-on-month to 40 million units in the first quarter of 2022, the lowest quarterly total since the second quarter of 2020, but shipments and market share of Samsung and Apple both increased year-on-year, according to Counterpoint Research research. They also experienced a month-on-month decline as a result of their withdrawal from the Russian market.

"the results for the second quarter of 2022 were mixed, masking complex market dynamics year-on-year. From an industry and macro point of view, Europe has changed a lot compared with last year or even the last quarter," said Jan Stryjak, deputy director of Counterpoint Research.

Stryjak said the situation in Europe would remain bleak for the rest of the year. "many European countries are getting closer to recession and domestic political tensions are rising in many countries other than Russia and Ukraine."

CTOnews.com learned that 5G iPhone SE 3 was launched in March this year. The 4.7-inch phone with a "classic design" costs $429 in the United States (from 3499 yuan at Bank of China) and is equipped with an A15 bionic chip, a 12MP main camera with Deep Fusion technology, Smart HDR 4 and iP67 waterproof and dustproof certification.
