CTOnews.com September 8 news, learned from BYD, today, BYD Automobile Thailand Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as BYD) and WHA Weihua Group Volkswagen Co., Ltd. signed a contract, formally signed land subscription, factory related agreements. This marks the official landing of BYD's first overseas passenger car factory in Thailand.

On August 8 this year, BYD and its local partner RÜVER held a brand launch conference in Bangkok to announce its official entry into the Thai passenger car market. At present, BYD has blade battery, e-platform 3.0, DM-i super hybrid and other technologies.

BYD said that with the landing of the first overseas passenger car factory, the company will give full play to its advantages in the whole industry chain and core technology, and actively promote the popularization of new energy vehicles in combination with the precipitation and large-scale industrial cluster effect of Thailand's local automobile industry.

CTOnews.com understands that BYD Thailand factory will adopt right-hand steering car technology and is expected to start operation in 2024 with an annual production capacity of about 150,000 vehicles. The cars produced will be launched in Thailand's domestic market and radiated to neighboring ASEAN countries and other regions.
