Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com Sept. 8, today, Intel announced the release of the 12th generation Intel Core system Chip (SoC) for the edge of the Internet of things.

Intel said that as a new family of dedicated edge products optimized for Internet of things applications, this pioneering slot system chip can provide high-performance integrated graphics and media processing capabilities for visual computing loads.

It is reported that, thanks to compact space footprint and operating thermal design power consumption (TDP) suitable for wide-temperature operation, it can also help customers achieve a smaller, innovative appearance and fan-less heat dissipation design.

CTOnews.com learned that the 12th-generation Intel Core system chip for the edge of the Internet of things provides up to 4x graphics processing speed and 6.6x GPU image classification reasoning performance compared to the 12W / 65W model in the 10th generation Intel Core desktop processor family. It has built-in Intel hardware thread scheduler (Intel Thread Director), which can intelligently guide the operating system to distribute the corresponding workload to the appropriate kernel. Compared with the 10th generation Intel Core desktop processor, this system chip has as many as 14 cores and 20 threads, with a 1.32-fold increase in single-thread performance and a 1.27-fold improvement in multithreading performance.

In addition, the 12th generation Intel Core system chip for the edge of the Internet of things also supports high-performance AI capabilities for reasoning and machine vision. Up to 96 EU of graphics execution units enable a high degree of parallelization of AI workloads, while the processor uses Intel Deep Learning acceleration (Intel DL Boost) and provides additional reasoning performance by building AI acceleration into the CPU. The processor also fully supports Intel distribution OpenVINO (Intel Distribution of OpenVINO) tool suite optimization and cross-architecture reasoning.
