CTOnews.com Sept. 8, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, today, MediaTek, a major mobile phone chip maker, announced its results for August 2022. Data show that MediaTek's combined revenue in August was NT $44.699 billion (about 10.102 billion yuan), up 9.3% from a month earlier and 4.4% from a year earlier.

In addition, MediaTek expects revenue this quarter to fall between NT $141.7 billion (about 32.024 billion yuan) and NT $154.2 billion (about 34.849 billion yuan), down about 1 to 9 per cent from a month earlier, but up 8 to 18 per cent from a year earlier.

MediaTek had previously said at the French meeting that it would reduce this year's performance growth from the original forecast of 20 per cent to a high ten-digit (high-teens) percentage of about 17 per cent to 19 per cent, while the full-year gross profit margin forecast remained unchanged, maintaining the view that it was between 48 and 50 per cent.

CTOnews.com learned that, for comparison, MediaTek earned NT $40.89 billion in July, up 1.31% from a year earlier, and accumulated revenue of NT $339.331 billion in the first seven months, up 23.82% from a year earlier.
