CTOnews.com Sept. 8 news, early this morning, Apple pushed the iOS 16 RC version (internal version: 20A362) update to iPhone users. Apple also released a number of new products today, including the Apple Watch Series 8, AirPods Pro 2 and iPhone 14 series. Although there are no major new features in the iOS 16 RC version, it does bring some interesting changes.

One of the new features of the APIiPhone 14 series and Apple Watch Series 8 is car accident detection. It uses new accelerometers and gyroscope sensors to detect potential car crashes, so the device automatically calls emergency services.

As analyzed by 9to5Mac, iOS 16 RC includes a new accident detection API so that third-party applications can request access to this feature. It's not clear exactly how API works, but Apple may allow developers to integrate accident detection with their applications (useful for remote diagnostics, for example).

As expected, there will be a new privacy switch in the iOS settings application so that users can choose which applications can access accident detection data.

AirPods Pro 2 New setting AirPods Pro 2 adds a touch function to the earplug handle so that users can not only play or pause lightly, but also swipe up and down to adjust the volume. The iOS 16 RC has a new accessibility setting that allows AirPods Pro 2 users to change the wait time between slides to prevent accidental volume adjustments.

Apple has also added new video guides to the system to help users disable Find My on a single AirPod or a new AirPods Pro charging box as an anti-tracking measure.

Detection of fake AirPods found in the internal system file code shows that iOS 16 can detect fake AirPods. Some of the knockoffs look exactly like the official AirPods, and they can even trigger some system functions, such as automatic pairing and battery lights.

With iOS 16, Apple's iPhone and iPad will sound an alert when users try to match a fake AirPods. The message reads: "these headphones cannot be verified as real AirPods and may not work as expected."

Turn off the AOD message screen display iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are equipped with AOD displays that work very similar to the same technologies currently available in Apple Watch. However, users who are willing to save some battery power can disable the AOD screen display by entering the iPhone setting.

IPhone 14 Pro boot tone another new feature of the iPhone 14 Pro model is the boot tone. More specifically, as part of iOS accessibility, users can choose to have iPhone play sound each time the device is turned on or off.

Because the startup sound is played during startup, the tone is part of the bootrom of the new A16 chip-which may be the reason this option is not available on other iPhone models.

Find My Smart Island animation iPhone 14 Pro has a brand new smart island pill screen, which not only replaces the bangs grooves, but also brings a new concept of interaction to the area. In notifications and media controls, Smart Island also has cool animations to show "Find My app" interactions.
