According to news in the morning of Sept. 8, Beijing time, Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, has hired the chief information officer of the Washington Post as general manager of the news department.

Salesh Prakash (Shailesh Prakash) has worked at the Washington Post for more than 10 years and has led the design, product and technology teams.

"this is an extremely important role and Google has given him the opportunity to influence the world by pursuing his interests at the intersection of news and engineering," said Fred Ryan, chief executive of the Washington Post.
