CTOnews.com, Sept. 8, according to Pengcheng Laboratory, China's first satellite-to-ground communication test system based on geostationary satellite Qmax V-band has been successfully operated. the system alignment of ESA (ESA) and German Aerospace Center (DLR) based on the load of Alphasat satellite Qmax V-band has filled the gap in the construction and research of high-orbit satellite-to-ground communication test system in China.

As we all know, satellite communications usually use electromagnetic waves to transmit information, but the band and spatial frequency resources are limited. In order to unify the management, the International Telecommunication Union has divided the electromagnetic wave frequency band according to the application business. Because of its large bandwidth and high capacity, coupled with the increasing congestion of the traditional satellite orbit in recent years, it has become a hot frequency band on the road of future development planning, and it is also the focus of international communication satellite competition in the next decade.

CTOnews.com has learned that although the prospect of the Qhammer V band is very broad, it also has its limitations, such as being vulnerable to propagation environments such as rain attenuation, as well as the basic problems of millimeter wave band satellite communications.

According to reports, this set of Qramp V-band satellite-to-ground communication test system is based on the Qmax V-band payload of Shishi 20 satellite developed by the Fifth Aerospace Institute, a Qhand V-band ground station, an automatic weather station, and an automatic data acquisition and storage system, and supports the actual measurement of Qmax V-band satellite-to-ground channels in different meteorological environments and the verification of the effectiveness of anti-fading technology.

Officials said that the research team used this system to complete the data acquisition and measurement of the propagation characteristics of the satellite-to-ground channel in the Qhand V-band for the first time in China, and collected more than 1400 hours of data of the satellite-to-ground channel in the Qmax V band.
