CTOnews.com Sept. 8, the new AirPods Pro 2 comes with a new H2 chip that supports Bluetooth 5.3, and brings stronger audio capabilities and longer battery life, but so far it doesn't seem to support Apple Music lossless audio directly.

Compared with H1, H2 chip has been upgraded in noise reduction, penetration mode and sound. However, Apple did not mention anywhere on its website or at its launch that the new AirPods Pro would support lossless audio.

In addition, Apple AirPods Pro 2 does support Bluetooth 5.3, which does not directly support lossless audio, but companies such as Qualcomm have been moving in this direction.

Apple also said that when it reached customers on September 23, the new AirPods 2 Pro had two main selling points that could not be used on the iPad and Mac.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple's footnotes reveal that personalized spatial audio profiles and Find My for the new headphones will be available with iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura in October.

In other words, currently only iOS 16 includes support for new features, but since iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will not be released to the public until October, iPad and Mac users will have to wait until the new system is released to get full support for AirPods Pro.

Apple also unveiled a brand new second-generation AirPods Pro headset at this fall launch. The new AirPods Pro is driven by a new H2 chip, unlocks breakthrough audio performance, and makes major upgrades to active noise reduction and penetration modes.

In terms of noise reduction, AirPods Pro is equipped with a new H2 chip, which can reduce noise twice as much as the previous generation of AirPods Pro.

In addition, an adaptive penetration mode is added, driven by a powerful H2 chip, device-side processing technology can reduce noisy ambient noise, such as the alarm sound of passing vehicles, construction noise, and even the sound of loudspeakers in concerts.

In terms of sound quality, personalized spatial audio allows AirPods to provide a more immersive listening experience. Users can use iPhone's original depth camera to create spatial audio profile information and get a listening experience that is precisely tuned for them.

In terms of connection and control, users can directly control the new AirPods Pro audio playback and volume adjustment without the help of other devices. Using the touch operation of AirPods Pro, you can quickly adjust the volume by gently sliding up or down on the headphone handle. Users can simply press the headphone handle to switch music, answer incoming calls, or say "Hey Siri", and give instructions without having to do anything.

In terms of battery life, the new AirPods Pro increases listening time by 1.5 hours compared with the previous generation, and up to 6 hours in active noise reduction mode. The wireless charging box can charge the headset an additional 4 times, thus enjoying up to 30 hours of listening time in active noise reduction mode, 6 hours more than the previous generation.

In addition, the AirPods Pro is equipped with a newly designed anti-perspiration and water-resistant charging box and includes rope holes to make the equipment accessible at any time. The precise search function allows users to locate the charging box according to the navigation route provided by iPhone equipped with U1 chip. The built-in speaker of the charging box can play a louder sound to help locate the AirPods Pro.

The new generation of AirPods Pro costs 1899 yuan and will be available in retail stores from Friday, September 23.
