CTOnews.com Sept. 8, NASA said that SpaceX's Crew-5 crew includes Commander Nicole Mann, pilot Josh Cassada, Japanese mission expert Wakata Koichi (JAXA), and Russian astronaut Anna Kikina, who will take the Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. The earliest launch date is set for October 3, and the location is still 39A at Kennedy launch site.

In addition, there are digital content creators will be invited to participate in the SpaceX Crew 5 mission, they will use the Falcon 9 rocket aboard the Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station on a scientific expedition. The mission is part of NASA's commercial manned program.

It is worth mentioning that NASA announced in July that SpaceX's Crew-5 launch was scheduled for early September, but the launch was postponed to the end of September because the company accidentally crashed its new Falcon 9 rocket booster into a bridge, which now appears to have been delayed for a full month.

For SpaceX, the accident only slightly damaged the top of the booster, which was easily resolved by changing the stage, but unplanned repairs still take time.

CTOnews.com learned that Crew-5 will be SpaceX's eighth manned space mission, the seventh mission to send astronauts to the space station, and NASA's sixth astronaut transport mission.

After docking with the International Space Station, Crew-5 will replace Crew-4, and astronauts returning to the region will also leave the station on their own Crew Dragon and return to Earth sometime in October.
