According to sources, the Ruilong 7000 mobile processor will be released in early 2023, a few months before the AMD Ruilong 7000 mobile processor. Tonight, AMD officially announced the naming rules for Ruilong 7000 mobile processors.

According to the official description, the new naming rules are based on user feedback on the past Ruilong 5000 series and 6000 series, presented in a new digital system, and built a new numbering system. As for why the naming rules for Ruilong 7000 mobile processors were innovated, AMD officials also gave an explanation: first, with the growth of AMD business, the new naming rules can better support the subsequent large processor families; second, the new naming rules can better show the characteristics and information of the product; third, for ordinary consumers, they can also know the approximate performance level of the processor according to its model. It ensures that each processor series can have relatively universal and consistent features and is easy for users to choose. Finally, it also enables AMD partners to design and manufacture more different positioning notebook product forms.

AMD also gives examples of the new naming standard. Take the Ruilong 57640U released in 2023 as an example, 7 of the 7640U represents the year 2023, that is, the 7000 series will be released in 2023, 8000 series in 2024, and 9000 series in 2025.

The second number in 7640U, "6", represents the corresponding processor series. For example, x3xx and x4xx represent Ruilong 3rex x5xx, x6xx represents Ruilong 5pm x7xx, which marks Ruilong 7pm x8xx represents Ruilong 7 / Ruilong 9, and the most high-end Ruilong 9 series is represented by x9xx.

Therefore, even if you don't look at the prefix and see the second number in 7640U, you can know that 7640U belongs to the Ruilong 5 series.

The third digit represents the Zen core architecture of the processor. 1 corresponds to Zen1, Zen+,2 corresponds to Zen 2, Zen 3 corresponds to Zen 3, Zen 3 corresponds to Zen 4, and Zen 5 corresponds to Zen 5. According to previous news, the AMD Zen 5 architecture will be released in 2024, so there should be no AMD processor models with a third digit greater than 5 until 2024.

The fourth digit, only 0 and 5, where 0 represents a slightly lower positioning within the architecture level of the same generation Zen, and 5 represents the corresponding high positioning.

The final suffix, a total of HX, HS, U, C, e five, of which HX TDP is 55W, the main high-performance, HS is 35W, the main game book and performance book, U is 15-28W, should be light and thin book, the same 15-28W also has "C", this is relatively special, mainly for Chromebook, the last "e", is the application of some fan-less design of lightweight notebook products.

Finally, with regard to the new naming rules, AMD said that the new naming standard can meet the needs of processor products over the next five years, and ensures that each product naming will have significant features, making it easier for users to understand more intuitively.
