Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com Sept. 7, today, TrendForce Group Consulting released a report that the revenue of the top 10 IC designers in the world reached $39.56 billion (about 275.338 billion yuan) in the second quarter of 2022, an increase of 32 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that the report shows that Qualcomm (Qualcomm), NVIDIA (NVIDA), AMD, Broadcom (BTO) and MediaTek (MediaTek) are among the top five.

Qualcomm continues to rank first in the world, with growth in mobile phones, RF front-ends, vehicles and the Internet of things. Sales of AP for low-and middle-end phones are weak, but demand for AP for high-end phones is relatively solid, with revenue of $9.38 billion, up 45 per cent from a year earlier.

Nvidia benefited from the expanded use of GPU in the data center, which increased its revenue share by more than half to 53.5%, making up for a 13% annual decline in the game application business, with total revenue of $7.09 billion and an annual growth rate of 21%.

AMD restructured its business after the addition of Xilinx and Pensando, and revenue from the embedded division increased year-on-year, while the data center division also made a considerable contribution, achieving a 70 per cent year-on-year growth of 70 per cent in revenue of $6.55 billion.

Broadcom's sales of semiconductor solutions remain robust, with strong demand for cloud services, data centers and Netcom, and a backlog of orders, with revenue of $6.49 billion this quarter, an annual increase of 31 per cent.

MediaTek mobile phones, smart device platforms and power management chips all maintained growth, but revenue slowed to 18 per cent at an annual rate of $5.29 billion due to weak sales of branded handsets in the mainland.
