CTOnews.com Sept. 6, according to the Financial Associated Press, Shen Zhi, executive vice president of Baidu Group, revealed that the Kunlun core of Baidu Yunzhi Integrated 3.0 AI IaaS layer has mass produced tens of thousands of pieces, realizing large-scale commercial landing, and the third generation of Kunlun core will be mass produced at the beginning of 2024.

In August last year, Baidu announced mass production of Kunlun Core 2, a second-generation Baidu Kunlun AI chip. This chip adopts 7nm process and is equipped with self-developed second-generation XPU architecture. Its performance is 2-3 times higher than that of the first generation, and it is suitable for cloud, end, edge and other scenarios.

In September last year, Song Chunxiao, a business analyst at Baidu Kunlun Core, said that Kunlun Core was the only chip in China that had been tempered by large-scale Internet core algorithms, landing more than 20,000 pieces.

CTOnews.com learned that Kunlun core AI chip in addition to self-developed XPU architecture and a number of independent designs, but also with Feiteng and other domestic general processors, Kirin and other domestic operating systems, as well as Baidu self-developed paddle depth learning framework to complete the end-to-end adaptation, with software and hardware integrated full-stack domestic AI capabilities.
