CTOnews.com reported on September 6 that an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province on September 5, with a focal depth of 16 km. The earthquake is obvious in many places.

On September 6, the Beijing Byte beat Public Welfare Foundation launched a special project for emergency relief, together with the one Foundation and the Aixiaoya Foundation, to donate 1800 emergency supplies to the earthquake-stricken areas in Sichuan. It contains 300 family boxes (blankets, towels, toothbrushes and flashlights, etc.) and 1500 emergency kits (emergency supplies for women).

CTOnews.com learned that at present, the byte jump public welfare platform has launched a number of public welfare projects to assist Luding, jointly with the Aide Foundation, the China Social Welfare Foundation, the Chongqing Charity Federation, and so on, to raise funds for the earthquake-stricken areas. In addition, byte jump's products Douyin and Jinri Toutiao have been launched as "earthquake resistant help channels" to provide emergency search services for people in earthquake-stricken areas, and have received a total of hundreds of effective clues.

CTOnews.com learned that, as of 0700 hours on 6 September, Ganzi Prefecture had reported 37 dead and 12 missing, and had treated 170 injured, of whom 56 were seriously injured. A total of 28 people were killed and 78 injured in Shimian County, Ya'an. All the injured were sent to hospital for treatment, including 5 in critical condition, 12 seriously injured and 61 slightly injured. So far, 65 people have been killed in the earthquake.
