CTOnews.com, September 6 (Xinhua)-- BYD, which gave up fuel vehicles and switched to new energy vehicles, released its results for the first half of 2022 at the end of last month. According to the H-share announcement, BYD achieved revenue of 150.607 billion yuan in the first half of 2022, an increase of 65.71 percent over the same period last year; its net profit was 3.595 billion, up 206.35 percent over the same period last year; and 3.029 billion yuan, up 721.72 percent from the same period last year. To put it simply, BYD has a daily operating income of more than 800 million yuan over the past six months, which not only creates the brightest financial report in BYD's history, but also makes BYD the most profitable car company in China.

China Business reporter counted the semi-annual reports of eight major listed car companies and found that BYD's net profit in the first half of the year, which completely abandoned the fuel car business, increased more than twice as much as the same period last year, with a gross profit of nearly 31500 yuan per bike, ranking first among statistical car companies. In BYD's business segment, revenue from cars, auto-related products and other products also accounted for 72.55% of the group's total revenue, an increase of more than 20 percentage points over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com understands that in the first half of this year, BYD sold 641400 vehicles, an increase of 314.9 percent over the same period last year, surpassing the 603800 sales for the whole of last year, and beating Tesla to become the top seller of new energy vehicles in the world. BYD's net profit of 3.595 billion yuan in the first half of 2022 alone exceeded the net profit of 3.05 billion yuan in 2021. Not only that, BYD sold 983844 vehicles in the first eight months, up 164.03% from a year earlier.

It is reported that BYD is currently ordering 700000 units, and the delivery cycle of new car orders is up to 4-5 months.
