The New York Times quoted sources involved in Apple's work as saying that it took Apple about three years to improve home settings for the Apple Watch. Home setup is a feature added in watchOS 7 that allows users without iPhone to use Apple Watch with cellular connectivity, including phone, messaging, application, location sharing, and so on.

Apple will release a "new version of Apple Watch that is cheaper than Apple Watch SE" as part of an effort to "more aggressively win over young smartwatch customers", the report said.
