In the same month, vehicle sales reached 512100, up 12.94 percent from the same month last year, of which 104900 new energy vehicles were sold, up 48.15 percent from the same period last year.

SAIC sold 733000 new energy vehicles last year, rising from 5.7 per cent in 2020 to 13.4 per cent in 2021. Among them, the sales proportion of new energy vehicles in independent brands has reached 22.7%. The company's 2025 target shows that it plans to achieve global sales of more than 2.7 million new energy vehicles, accounting for no less than 32% of the company's total vehicle sales, so as to achieve a high-quality "carbon peak".

Zhiji, which is positioned as a high-end new energy vehicle brand of SAIC, disclosed delivery data for the first time. In August, Zhiji L7 delivered 1007 vehicles a month, an increase of 23.4% over the previous month. According to Zhiji's plan, two luxury pure electric smart B-class cars will be introduced in 2023, and the AIRO concept car will be produced in 2024.

When talking about the planning and investment in the field of new energy, SAIC pointed out that among the company's newly built "seven technology bases", "Nebula" pure electric exclusive systematic platform, "Everest" mechatronics vehicle architecture, "Xinghe" electric hydrogen integrated vehicle architecture, as well as "blue core" powertrain system, "Rubik's cube" platform battery system, and "green core" electric drive system are all related to new energy technology.

CTOnews.com learned that SAIC pointed out that the company is also constantly optimizing forward-looking technical solutions in the field of new energy such as skateboard platform CTC and solid-state batteries, and continue to promote future-oriented modular solutions such as integrated drive bridges.

According to reports, Zhiji, Feifan, Roewe, Mingjue and other brand follow-up models all plan to choose Rubik's cube batteries. At present, both SAIC era and Izuki Power can produce Rubik's cube batteries and supply Rubik's cube batteries for SAIC passenger cars in Hong Kong, Zhengzhou, Ningde and other production bases in accordance with the principle of localization.
