CTOnews.com, Sept. 4 (Xinhua)-- the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating Amazon's $3.9 billion (26.988 billion yuan) acquisition of healthcare provider One Medical, according to the Wall Street Journal.

1Life Healthcare, the parent of One Medical, disclosed the investigation in a statement. One Medical and Amazon received requests from FTC for additional information about the deal on Friday, the announcement said.

Amazon's acquisition of One Medical has given the technology and retail giant a boost to enter the $4 trillion (27.68 trillion yuan) health care economy in the United States, the report said.

Amazon reported net sales of $121.234 billion (838.939 billion yuan) in the second quarter, up 7 percent from a year earlier, with a net loss of $2.028 billion (14.034 billion yuan) and a net profit of $7.778 billion (538.24 billion yuan) in the same period last year.
