CTOnews.com, Sept. 4-Android Beam is a NFC sharing feature added to Android 4 that allows two Android devices with NFC to share files by being close to each other.

According to information found by whistleblower Mishaal Rahman, next year's Android 14 will completely remove the Android Beam feature.

According to revelations, the feature has been discontinued in Android 10, but is allowed to be installed by other Android vendors that use AOSP. In the new Android 14, this feature will be completely removed from AOSP, meaning that other Android vendors will not be able to use it.

CTOnews.com learned that Google has launched Nearby Share sharing for Android devices on Google Mobile Services (GMS), which is not available on non-GMS Android devices.
