CTOnews.com, September 3 (Xinhua)-- chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will replace DuPont in the S & P 100 from September 19, local time said Friday.

Standard & Poor's Dow Jones said: "DuPont no longer represents the giant stock market, it will remain in the S & P 500."

CTOnews.com learned that after completing its historic surpassing of Intel's market capitalization on July 29, AMD's market capitalization is still ahead of Intel and has become a veritable number one in global CPU market capitalization. AMD's second-quarter 2022 results, released on August 3, showed revenue of $6.55 billion, up 70 per cent from a year earlier.

The S & P 100 is a capital-weighted index of a wide range of industrial stocks. It can also be said to be the 100 largest and most representative of American stocks, which may be more accurate in the industrial category than the S & P 500. Its constituent shares are weighted according to the total market value of their untraded shares. The total market value of each issued stock is the price per share multiplied by the number of untraded shares, and the change in the price of each constituent share is proportional to its total market value.
