According to the data released at the conference by the Robot Branch of the China Machinery Industry Federation, the sales of China's industrial robot market grew rapidly in 2021, reaching an all-time high, ranking first in the world for nine consecutive years.

CTOnews.com learned that statistics show that a total of 271000 industrial robots were sold in China's industrial robot market in 2021, an increase of 50.1 percent over the same period last year. Industrial robot sales account for more than 50% of the world, and the manufacturing robot density reaches 322 per 10,000 workers. Among them, the sales of multi-joint robots in the Chinese market still ranks first among all models, with annual sales of 181000 units, an increase of 60.8% over the same period last year, which is the fastest growing model.

In addition, last year, domestic self-brand industrial robots sold 87000 units, an increase of about 50% over the same period last year, accounting for 32% of the total market sales.

According to Wang Weiming, director of the first Department of equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the application of industrial robots in China has covered 60 industries and 168 industries in the national economy. In 2021, the output of service robots in China reached 9.214 million, an increase of 48.9 percent over the same period last year. While the market for special robots is growing steadily, space robots, deep-sea robots, surgical robots and other high-complexity products have achieved important breakthroughs.
