At the 2022 IFA show, Sennheiser introduced a new Ambeo Soundbar Plus bar stereo, expanding Ambeo's product lineup. The price is slightly lower, but not everyone can afford it. The price is $1499.95 (about 10349.66 yuan), and pre-orders begin today. Sennheiser's original Ambeo will continue to be sold, but will be renamed Ambeo Soundbar Max.

Despite its small size, the Ambeo Soundbar Plus provides the same excellent 3D sound output as the Ambeo Soundbar Max, thanks to a technology developed by Sennheiser in collaboration with IIS of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits.

It is reported that the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Plus has a total of nine drive units: two 4-inch subwoofers and seven full-frequency aluminum drive units. Two of the drive units are emitted upward to make the sound bounce off the ceiling and are used in conjunction with 3D surround sound formats such as Dolby panoramic sound and DTS:X, two drive units are emitted from both ends to the side, and three drive units are emitted forward. Sennheiser claims that the acoustics can create a total of 7.1.4 surround sound systems.

Sennheiser said that the Ambeo can self-calibrate to read the acoustic characteristics of the room, and then locate seven virtual speakers around the audience, plus four overhead, so that users can experience the audio depth, impact and space of the cinema at home, without the need for additional cables or satellite speakers.

Yes, Sennheiser still doesn't provide Ambeo Soundbar Plus with satellite speakers of any kind this time, but it does offer a new, independent subwoofer Ambeo Sub, which costs $699.95 (about 4829.66 yuan) and has an 8-inch subwoofer and a 350W Class D amplifier, which the company claims can provide "fever-level subwoofers as low as 27Hz." Users can connect up to four Ambeo Subs wirelessly in a home theater setting, and the subwoofer is self-calibrating and uses a built-in microphone to optimize the room's unique acoustic performance.

Ambeo Soundbar Plus supports audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and 360Reality Audio, as well as Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Google Chromecast, which were added when Ambeo OS was launched in March.
