CTOnews.com9, July 22 this year, Volkswagen Group fired its CEO Herbert Diess, the new CEO is Volkswagen Porsche CEO Oliver Bloom (Oliver Blume). On August 31, Deiss issued an open letter reviewing his achievements during his tenure at Volkswagen CEO and completing the transition with Bloom.

According to the Wall Street Journal on Sept. 1, Volkswagen's new CEO Bloom expressed support for his predecessor's electric vehicle strategy on his first day in office, but he also said that traditional internal combustion engines can also play a role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Bloom said that while he supports Volkswagen's promotion of electric cars and may even accelerate it, Volkswagen is likely to continue to produce cars with low-carbon internal combustion engines for many years to come. "the advantage of synthetic fuels (e-Fuels) is that they can be transported like conventional fuels," Bloom said in an interview. "in addition, the current infrastructure can also be used."

According to reports, Bloom and his development team have been supportive of synthetic fuel (e-Fuels), which can be used in traditional internal combustion engine cars, so that traditional internal combustion engine vehicles will not be eliminated prematurely and can effectively reduce carbon emissions.

Ferdinand Dudenhoffer analysis at the Automotive Research Center in Duisburg said Bloom's support for increasing the role of synthetic fuel in VW's overall strategy could lead Volkswagen to shift some of its resources from electric vehicles to conventional cars. "as a result, Volkswagen's investment in electric vehicles may be affected," Dudenhoffer said.
