CTOnews.com Statcounter has released its August 2022 report, revealing the latest statistics on desktop browsers and operating systems. According to the survey results, the browser market has not changed much since July 2022.

Google Chrome remains the most popular choice with 67.33% share. In August 2022, the browser rose 1.19 percentage points, leaving competitors behind.

Microsoft Edge came in second with 10.91% share. As in previous months, Edge's market share grew slightly, by only 0.05 percentage points.

In August 2022, Apple Safari ranked third with 8.83%, down 0.14 percentage points. Finally, Firefox came in fourth with 7.4 percent share, down 0.67 percentage points. Opera's browser share fell 0.21 percentage points to 2.86%.

CTOnews.com learned that in the mobile market, the situation is similar, except for Microsoft Edge, which is located in the "Other" section. Google Chrome ranked first (65.04%,-0.12), Apple Safari ranked second (24.59%,+0.36) and Samsung Internet ranked third (4.81%,-0.05). Opera, UC, Android and all other mobile browsers split the remaining 5.56% market share.
