CTOnews.com, September 1 (Xinhua)-- Apple will add several iPod models to the "outdated" list later in September, including the last iPod nano, some models of the last iPod shuffle and the fifth-generation iPod touch, marking the end of qualified hardware maintenance services around the world.

In a memo to authorized service providers, Apple said that the iPod shuffle at the end of 2012 and the seventh and fifth generation iPod nano and fifth generation iPod touch would be marked as "obsolete" on September 30, according to MacRumors.

The 16GB version of the fifth-generation iPod touch has been marked as "obsolete", and Apple hopes to add 32GB and 64GB option versions to the "obsolete" list later this month.

CTOnews.com learned that in early May this year, Apple announced that it would stop production of the final seventh-generation iPod touch. In June, Apple removed the iPod touch product page from its websites in all parts of the world, marking the final end of the player.
