CTOnews.com, September 1, according to Hunan Daily, at the 2022 Internet Yuelu Summit, which opened on August 31, the "Hunan Xiangjiang New area Intelligent Network and Automobile Innovation Application demonstration Zone Action Plan (2022-2025)" was officially released to the public.

The Action Plan contains four major contents, support in-depth intelligent network connection vehicle road testing, encourage intelligent network connection vehicle large-scale application and commercial operation, speed up the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent network connection, and improve the supporting system system of demonstration application and operation management.

The first article of the Action Plan proposes to "support the in-depth development of intelligent network-connected vehicle road testing". It mainly includes three aspects: carrying out completely unmanned testing, gradually realizing global opening, and promoting the landing of intelligent network-connected automobile highway test. At present, Hunan Xiangjiang New area has opened 317km of test roads. If the new area is open to 1200 square kilometers and 1712 km of road mileage according to the plan, Changsha will become the city with the longest test road mileage and the largest region in the country. at the same time, it will also create a functional unmanned vehicle application demonstration city with the widest range of operations and the richest application scenes in China.

CTOnews.com learned that in encouraging large-scale applications and commercial operations of intelligent Internet-connected cars, the Action Plan clearly proposes to support the commercial operation of fully self-driving taxis. We will gradually promote the operation of fully self-driving taxis in innovative application demonstration zones around the clock. We will introduce incentive policies to support the large-scale commercial use of fully self-driving taxis, and encourage peer-to-peer commercial operation services in specific areas such as parks, scenic spots, business areas, airports, high-speed railway stations, subway stations and so on. To create the largest unmanned, round-the-clock demonstration application and commercial operation city in China.

The Action Plan also aims at comprehensive commercial operation of application scenarios such as unmanned cleaning, unmanned distribution and unmanned retail. The aim is to cultivate a new product of "unmanned economy" facing the future, new business type, and to create a functional unmanned vehicle application demonstration city open all over the world.

At a press conference held by the Ministry of Transport on August 25, Han Jinghua, deputy director of the Transport Service Department of the Ministry of Transport, said that at present, more than 10 cities across the country have allowed self-driving cars to engage in commercial trial operations such as taxis and urban bus (electric) cars in specific areas and specific periods, and the scale of application has been expanding.
