The guide also states that companies should be aware of the risks facing their network and be able to identify strange activities and report regularly to internal boards. CTOnews.com has been informed that the UK government plans to incorporate these measures into law soon along with the code of conduct. Once they become law, the UK's Office of Communications (Ofcom) will have the power to inspect sites and systems to ensure that they comply with standards. If they fail to meet their obligations and if they continue to ignore the rules, the company will be fined up to 10 per cent of turnover or 100000 pounds (about 807000 yuan) a day.
