This article introduces the relevant knowledge of "How Humanetics and Foretellix jointly build a bridge between virtual and physical test processes for ADAS and ADS". In the actual case operation process, many people will encounter such difficulties. Next, let Xiaobian lead you to learn how to deal with these situations! I hope you can read carefully and learn something!

On March 16, 2021, Humanetics, an active safety test equipment and services provider based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA, and Foretellix, an automated driving system verification and validation (V&V) platform provider based in Tel Aviv, Israel, demonstrated a tool chain that can establish the correlation between virtual and physical testing. Among the demos released are Humanetics and Foretellix, which will be broadcast live at AAA GoMentum Station in Northern California this May.

This new joint product combines physical and virtual testing of autonomous driving assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving systems (ADS). This will help OEMs and Tier1 address the growing complexity of ADAS and ADS, reduce development and validation costs, and accelerate regulatory and non-regulatory testing to ensure safety and compliance.

In videos released by Humanetics and Foretellix, the two companies demonstrate complete validation protocols for testing and validating ADAS. The solution first uses the M-SDL definition on Foretellix's verification platform Foretfiy, an open-source scalable scenario description language invented by Foretellix. Foretify then took this abstract scenario and automatically created thousands of meaningful tests that were compatible with different test platforms (e.g. simulator, HIL, test bench). During the demonstration, a specific set of test data was sent to Humanetics UFO Base (bionic robot) control software, and then by transforming the data using UFO base scripts (.ubs), Humanetics test robots (UFOs, driving robots) could accurately perform these tests on the proving ground. Once testing begins, the data in the test is sent back to the Foretify Scenario Analysis Panel for KPI and coverage-driven analysis, correlation with virtual tests, and further iterations on different simulators-to provide a visualization of the progress of the test process and quantifiable coverage status.

In May, the two partners plan to hold a joint event at AAA GoMentum Station in Concord, Northern California. The event will include a live demonstration of a joint tool chain consisting of Foretilix's Foretify verification and validation platform and its unified dashboard for coverage-driven verification, which can be used in conjunction with Humanetics test bots (UFO, Driving Robot).

Sanket Mehta, vice president of business development at Humanetics, said: "With this integrated technology demonstration, we can create complex scenarios with multiple participants (such as motor vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, and other vulnerable road users) on a virtual platform and port that scenario to Humanetics robots for physical testing at the proving ground. This collaboration will help customers optimize test cycles and reduce the time and resources required to run these critical tests by improving data consistency between virtual and physical tests. "

Ziv Binyamini, CEO and co-founder of Foretellix, said:"The partnership with Humanetics enables us to demonstrate how to generate and execute tests on different platforms, virtual and physical, using a unified tool chain, effectively linking virtual and physical tests, and analyzing all data in a unified dashboard. We believe that a unified test and validation platform can display coverage data for both physical and virtual simulation testing, which is an important means for the automotive industry to seek to improve safety and ensure faster development cycles for autonomous driving systems. "
