CTOnews.com, August 31, according to foreign media reports, AMD mentioned the improvement in energy efficiency of R9 7950X in the official PPT of the Ruilong 7000 series processors, with a performance improvement of up to 74% under 65W TDP compared with the previous generation of R9 5950X.

As shown in the figure above, also under 65W TDP, the latest R9 7950X has 74% higher performance than R9 5950X, 37% higher performance under 105W TDP, and 35% higher performance under 170W TDP.

CTOnews.com has reported that in May this year, AMD announced a "Dragon Range" processor for high-end gaming laptops, which uses Zen4 micro-architecture, 55W + power design, and supports PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 memory technology.

AMD said in PPT that the series has "the highest core, thread, and cache in the history of mobile game processors," indicating that it will break through 8 cores and is expected to achieve 12 or 16 cores. In other words, AMD is likely to port the desktop Ruilong 7000 processor to the mobile.

Given the huge performance improvement of the Ruilong 7000 under the 65W TDP, the 7000HX series 55W TDP mobile processors are expected to have the biggest performance improvement in history.

By convention, AMD is expected to release a new generation of mobile processors on CES early next year.
