CTOnews.com August 31, according to Nokia Bell announced that Nokia 1830 PSS photonic service switch with Serbia Telecom and MTEL successfully verified 600Gbps rate, supporting low-latency, high-capacity transmission, flexibility to adapt to a variety of traffic mode agility.

Nokia recently announced that Serbian Telecom and MTEL have successfully tested 600Gbit / s line rates on an optical transmission network of more than 600km between Banja Luka and Belgrade. CTOnews.com learned that the test uses Nokia 1830 PSS photonic service switch based on PSE-Vs chipset to meet low-delay, high-capacity transmission requirements and support 100GE and 400GE service transmission.

In addition to remote connections between cities, Serbian Telecom will deploy 1830 PSS series equipment (PSS-16 and PSS-8x) in two new regional rings to provide a next-generation, scalable network based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) to meet the needs of residential and commercial customers.

In the current network test between Serbian Telecom and MTEL, Nokia demonstrated the performance of 600Gbit / s lines on a 600km path, which consists of six segments, through the Cmure F ROADM node. By achieving high spectrum efficiency over the 100GHz WDM channel, Serbian Telecom and MTEL will be able to maximize network capacity, performance and operational efficiency, while reducing the total cost of ownership of the network.
