TSMC, Apple's main supplier, announced in May 2020 that it would invest $12 billion to build a new fab in Arizona. Construction of the plant began in June last year and is expected to start production in 2024.

Arizona Governor Doug Doug Ducey said that just over two years later, TSMC had completed the construction of its major facilities and continued to make excellent progress. He also says Arizona is a great place to invest.

It is reported that after the completion of the plant, the 5nm process will be used to manufacture wafers for relevant customers, with a monthly production capacity of 20000 wafers, including Nvidia, Qualcomm and Apple.
