Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

On the afternoon of August 31, Sina Technology learned from people familiar with the matter that Petal, a ride-hailing platform launched by Huawei in July this year, is planning new expansion plans. Following the previous few cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen and Nanjing, Petal plans to enter the national market and is currently negotiating full access with T3.

At the Hongmeng OS 3.0 launch event at the end of July this year, Huawei announced the official launch of the ride-hailing service Petal. Petal travel is based on Huawei's self-developed map engine capability and provides aggregate taxi-hailing services. Without downloading the application, users can get the same experience as the application through the service card, and can be used in collaboration between mobile phones, watches, tablets, PC and other devices.

Because it does not provide transport capacity directly, Huawei has adopted an aggregation model for entering the ride-hailing service, which is also the approach adopted by Gaode, Meituan and other enterprises to enter the ride-hailing industry. In the early days, Petal gathered Shouqi car booking and Shenzhou chauffeured car, but it only provided services in Beijing, Shenzhen, Nanjing and other cities.

In the field of travel, Huawei is showing greater ambition. According to people familiar with the matter, Huawei Petal Travel aims to enter the national market, intends to contact more ride-hailing service providers, and is currently negotiating full access with T3 Travel.

In fact, Huawei launched Petal Travel and Petal Maps, which are closely related to Google. Huawei faces cuts in a variety of user services in overseas markets because it is unable to use Google's GMS services. Against this background, Huawei launched its own Petal map to try to build its own ecology.

However, just as Hongmeng OS needs its own differentiated functions for its development and growth, Huawei Petal Maps also needs more users and services to build an ecology. And aggregation ride-hailing application Petal travel is an important part.

It is worth noting that in recent years, safety and compliance have become the most important factors affecting the development of the ride-hailing industry, as is the aggregation model. In the choice of partners, Huawei also has an obvious tendency to choose, whether it is the previous pilot cooperation of SAIC car appointment, China chauffeured car, or T3 travel, which is negotiating full access, mainly using B2C mode, which can have strong control over compliance transport capacity.

According to data disclosed by Cui Dayong, CEO of T3 Travel, it has entered 92 cities in China and has a compliance capacity of more than 800000, ranking first in the industry. If full access to T3 travel, Huawei Petal travel coverage of the city will also be expanded to 92, and can ensure capacity compliance.

For T3 travel, with FAW, Dongfeng, Changan and other national team background, but also need more users to help him further in the market, it is reasonable to discuss cooperation with Huawei.

According to data released by Yu Chengdong, Huawei terminal BG CEO, the number of Huawei devices carrying Hongmeng OS has exceeded 300 million. These 300 million users' traffic pool is also needed for T3 travel, and only after the expansion of the user scale can the compliant driver's transport capacity have more income.

In addition, a person in the industry who pays attention to smart travel has analyzed to Sina Technology that if Huawei reaches a cooperation with T3 Travel, the areas of cooperation may not only be online car-hailing, but may even involve new energy vehicles, self-driving and other businesses.

At present, the new energy vehicle business is becoming one of the important business directions of Huawei. Besides selling cars to C-end, B-side is also a good business. While T3 travel is promoting the new energy of platform vehicles, in the data released by Cui Dayong, T3 travel self-operated vehicles account for 92% of the new energy vehicles.

In terms of autopilot, this is also one of the core business directions invested by Huawei and T3. Under the background of the current travel industry emphasizing compliance and data security, autonomous and controllable autopilot technology as well as scenarios and data will also become a potential space for cooperation between the two sides.
