CTOnews.com, August 31 (Xinhua) according to the application documents, Tesla plans to build a new battery production line at the Fremont plant in California, and Tesla may seek to expand the battery capacity of the Fremont plant through the new production line.

CTOnews.com learned that the 2010 plant is the only one on its production line that can produce all four ModelX / Y / S / 3 models at the same time. Tesla did not use it as a battery or battery pack factory, because the company also has a super factory in Sparks, Nevada, to make battery and other parts.

However, the documents suggest that Tesla may want to expand his battery manufacturing work slightly through his new production line in Fremont.

The license, which was submitted and signed by Tesla on August 30, is labeled "Tesla F21-0391 Murat A-CTA Battery B-Build". Tesla described the project as follows:

"the main general manager is on the second floor of the new battery manufacturing equipment line. the license application is related to the module part of the production line."

According to the figures mentioned in the document, the project is worth approximately $1.5 million.

In addition, there is another $1.3 million project, including the installation of a new maintenance office, a storage area, a production unit with hood, bezel and trunk cover equipment, and offline battery manufacturing equipment. The project is located on the first floor of the assembly building.

Elon Musk, chief executive of Tesla, had previously said Tesla was considering a "substantial" expansion of Fremont. Although many people think he just wants to expand the car production line, it now seems that Musk may be hinting at full expansion.
